JOHN KATZ
John Katz is a performer, writer, and musician based in New York City. He has traveled across the country working on multiple national tours and working for various regional theatres throughout the United States.
John was most recently seen onstage reprising his role as Dick/Topper in Scrooge The Musical at the Arizona Theatre Company. He was also the assistant dance captain and the understudy to Tom Jenkins, Young Ebenezer, and the Nephew.
A Midwesterner at heart, John was born/raised in Kansas and got his BFA in Musical Theater from The Conservatory of Theater Arts at Webster University in St. Louis. In addition to his performing career, John is currently pursuing his MA in Arts Administration and Entrepreneurship through the University of Oklahoma Online.
Previous Projects
John spent the summer of 2024 at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in the Ensemble of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Halfway through the run, John took over the role of Brother Simeon while split tracking his ensemble duties.
John spent the 2023 and 2024 holiday seasons performing with the Arizona Theatre Company as Dick/Topper in Scrooge! The Musical. John was the assistant dance captain and also understudied Nephew/Ebenezer, Tom Jenkins, Bisset, and Pringle.
In the spring on 2023 John was in the Ensemble of Rent and the understudy for Mark at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
John was on the Legally Blonde National Tour as a Dance Captain in the Ensemble and as the Emmett Understudy through Big League Productions.
In the fall of 2022, John was seen at The Green Room 42 in a concert of the new production Showcase: A Rehearsal Musical
